Masters Excel WOD #9

Mark Blau - 56 - CrossFit Montgomery County

“The Title to Any George Thorogood Song”

For time:

200 double-unders

100 kb swings, 53/35

* For every missed double-under AND every break in kb swings, row 25 m after final kb swing.  Your time stops when the row is finished.  For example, if you miss 25 double unders and break 5 times in the kb swings, you need to row 750 m (30 x 25 m)before stopping your clock.

**Over 60 years old can use a lighter kb and perform single-unders if necessary.  If completing singles, count any breaks as misses for the purpose of rowing.

Post your results no later than Sunday 5/15/11 midnight PST.

    Hey There,
It would be great to have a weekly wod again.
    Thanks!

I have qualified for the Games in the men’s 50-54 division. I was wondering if anyone knows of a great place to stay near the Home Depot Center or knows someone looking to share expenses for lodging.

    Thanks
    Steve Fluet

    Hi Terry…
I may have posted my results for Wod #9 wrong. I’m 64 yrs old and the Wod instructions said it’s permissible for individuals over 60 to lower the KB weight and do SU’s. I used 44# and did SU’s. I posted it as “Rx’d”. If it should be “Non-Rx’d”, please correct it for me. Thanks!

Nice to be back. Thanks Terry for your efforts. I am in my 7th;week of recovery from an Achilles tear and my physio has instructed light jogging for next week. As the week progresses I hope to give this Workout a go. Never say never! Well done to all the magnificent Masters who participated in the Open. I watched enviously from the sidelines in awe at the efforts of so many dedicated athletes. Superb!

  5. Mike Ussary says:

Double unders are one of my many weaknesses in the Crossfit Workouts. I did all 200 DU and only put the KB down 3 times. Rowed 1500 meters. Practice, Practice the DU.

  6. Dave Tallman says:

I am looking at the posted times so far and feel there is something wrong with mine. My son counted for me at MBS CF and I completed my rows after the KB’s. Should I have done double or even triple my singles to make the WOD more realistic?

  7. Rick Sinclair says:

Great WOD! Love the programming. Thanks for starting a great think back up again.
